Gary is a combat veteran who served two tours at Fort Campbell, Kenney retired from the Army and settled in Clarksville in 1994. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he said he “fell in love with Clarksville” during his military service. He and his wife, Carolyn, a Brownsville native, were married in Clarksville in 1981.

Kenney pastors The Garden Church (located at 381 Highway 149) and previously served as director of Safe Harbor of Tennessee, a residential drug and alcohol recovery center. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational development from Bethel University.

“My life has been a life of committed service to my country and local community,” Kenney said. “The concerns of the people we lead and serve have shaped my life. I’m running because I care deeply about our community.”

He pledged steady leadership and responsible growth for Clarksville and Montgomery County. As Clarksville continues to grow, Kenney said he believes infrastructure, roads and public safety must remain top priorities.

“Decisions made at the county level directly affect our families, our livelihoods, and our future,” he said. “Taxpayers deserve thoughtful leadership that listens, asks questions and treats every dollar with respect.”
